Application process

We have tried to make our application process as simple and transparent as possible.

  • If you wish to apply, please complete our online funding request form. We cannot accept applications by post.
  • Applications are reviewed continuously, with decisions made quarterly by the Trustees. Although deadlines are provided, we limit the number of applications considered each quarter. Submitting your application early increases its chances of being reviewed in the upcoming meeting. Upon submission, your application will be scheduled for the next available meeting.
  • If you are applying for a project with a firm start date, please ensure you submit the application at least four months before the project is due to begin. The Pye Trust is happy to consider unrestricted grants and core costs for charities that are a good overall fit for the trustee’s interests.
  • Please bear in mind that we are currently not awarding multiyear grants. If you are successful in your application, you are welcome to apply the following year to the same project or core costs, we would need a short update of the success of the previous year funds. Please note that past success is no guarantee of future funding.
  • Grants generally range from £500 to £10,000. We may award more or less than you have applied for.
  • Sometimes we will approach a charity if we think there might be a good fit for our programmes or encourage a past applicant to reapply. Again, this is no guarantee of funding. An invitation to apply should not be confused with a decision to fund.
  • If a project we have awarded funding to is subsequently found not to be viable, you must contact us to let us know and seek approval before reallocating our grant to another purpose.
  • We have no publicity requirements but are happy to be named in charity donor lists, such as in annual reviews. Please get in touch if you wish to highlight the Trust in any other way.

Outcome

Unsuccessful applications
Due to a high volume of applications, we are unable to offer specific feedback to unsuccessful applicants.

Successful applications
Successful applicants will receive an email notification of the Trustees’ decision. Grants will be disbursed via bank transfer, and you will be asked to provide your bank details within the application. We request that you send a grant receipt promptly after receiving the funds. This receipt is required for our annual audit. We do not intend to follow up with charities for this documentation.

Please check our funding criteria carefully before applying to us. Please ensure the charity is based in Oxfordshire or have a strong presence in Oxfordshire. Please get in touch via the Contact us page if you have any questions or queries before applying.
