We are committed to supporting a variety of charitable activities across Oxfordshire, with a particular focus on alleviating hardship. Our trustees meet quarterly to review applications and award grants, ensuring that we make a meaningful impact on those in need within our community. We especially recognise the challenges that many smaller charities face in securing core funding necessary to operate efficiently in today’s demanding environment.
Background
Mr and Mrs J A Pye’s Charitable Settlement was established in 1966. In its early years the Settlement’s principal asset was a shareholding in the Pye building company. Although it no longer holds any shares in the company, the Trustees still feel that there is some interest in the areas in which it operated.
Vision Statement
In making grants, the Trustees are guided by the Settlement’s Vision: “That the Settlement establishes itself as a major independent source of funding for charitable causes in Oxfordshire with the result that the Pye name continues to be associated with benevolence within the County.”
Application Process
In making grants the Trustees seek to continue the Settlors’ interests while expanding them to encompass other causes. Although the Trustees have a wide discretion they will mainly entertain applications from causes in, or relating to, projects in Oxfordshire.
